About the Mediation Centre

This is the first mediation centre set up by a non-governmental welfare agency to provide different kinds of mediation services for people in Hong Kong.

　

In response to the significant increase in the divorce rate in recent years, and in view of the negative impact of the conflictual marital relationships on children, the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society has developed Family Mediation Service since May 1997. It aims at helping divorcing / divorced / separated couples handle disputes rationally and amicably so that they can reach a settlement which is mutually acceptable and they can maintain co-operation in the care of their children. In recent years, we have also expanded the use of mediation to other areas such as to resolve conflicts between/among family members, parents, peers, colleagues, neighbours…etc.
